Hidden Cabin
The Hidden Cabin design team took charge of styling the decoration for Hidden Hotel. Hidden Hotel Cabin worked with stone, wood, leather, and of course linen, all in the purpose of creating a totally unique atmosphere.
Jamie and Diane Welstead created the Hidden Cabin brand in 2000 after a long career designing fashion and interior fabrics. Scottish Jamie and his American wife Diane, originally from Norway, live with their four children and two labradors in an old stone barn in France’s Tarn department, where they took up residence in 1991. The Hidden Cabin collection expresses Jamie’s and Diane’s love for everything natural, simple, and real. The "hidden cabin" exists in their heads, a virtual umpire who decides whether an design idea for a product rightly belongs in the collection. The "cabin" is an old wooden house beside a lake where youthful holidays were spent with grandparents, cousins, and all the family in all its generations. There are objects in the cabin that have “always” been there - an old fishing rod, a wood-and-leather stool, a hat belonging to great uncle Charlie (best known for his weakness for whisky from the isles), a leather jacket with worn-through elbows which gives such pleasure to look at that no one has the heart to throw it away. All these things bear the patina of a long family story embracing generations. They carry the spirit of that cabin inside them.
